CSI Reading - When a disaster strikes

Sattori
When I was eleven I was in a Tsunami I was sitting on the beach when I heard the siren go off. I stood up and saw the water gushing towards me, I turned around and starting running for the higher ground. I was starting to panic I started thinking where is my family I couldn’t remember, then I remembered that they went for hike earlier today (I didn’t feel like going I wasn’t much of hiker). I glanced behind my shoulder and I saw the water getting closer and closer I started getting more and more scared I started fearing for my life I didn’t know if I could make it through this. I knew that I wouldn’t be giving up this easy so I ran as fast I could go there was people flooding the streets I could barely move. The first wave struck the beach then another and another, I wasn’t too sure what happened after that. All I remember where people crowding around me. Then I opened my eyes they told me what had happened they told me where they found me, I was found clutching onto a tree holding on for dear life. I was certain I wouldn’t make it through this I started thinking please don’t take and different things like this, I didn’t want to go not today at least. About a year after the disaster I still can’t go to a beach without thinking about the disaster. I haven’t been able to do a lot of things that involve water (I can’t even go to the wave pool without having a panic attack).
How do you get over a disaster? You could go to a therapist and just talk about it - You could also go to like a youth group were your interacting with people all the time.
